The Rowing Physio

Matthew Anthis

Matthew Anthis holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University in North Sydney and a Masters in Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne, to become an APA Sports and Exercise Titled Physiotherapist.

He is also a Rowing Australia Preferred Provider Physiotherapist for Rowing Injuries and a former Rowing Coach giving him a unique understanding of dealing with an injury from both the rower's and coaches' perspective.

Matthew is very passionate about rowing - including the community and competitive nature of the sport. Matthew has himself rowed for both school and club. His empathy for those who are unable to row due to injury and his interest in rehabilitation began when he suffered a back injury during his own rowing involvement.

Matthew was featured in the article below by the Australian Catholic University for prospective physiotherapy students.
